Precious craftsmanship

Individually manufactured furniture and comprehensive room concepts for the highest demands on quality are the specialty of Neue Wiener Werkstätte in Austria.

The historic Wiener Werkstätte was founded in 1903 as a manufacturing collective of visual artists, who strived to renew the concept of art in the field of arts and crafts. The aim was to creatively merge all aspects of human life by means of craftsmanship, in order to bring forth a “Gesamtkunstwerk”. The combination of high-quality design and craftsmanship in arts and crafts also characterizes the work of KAPO Möbelwerkstätten GmbH, situated in Pöllau, Styria, which acquired the brand Wiener Werkstätte in the 1980s and has led it to new heights. Now in the 4th generation, the family company has manufactured wooden quality products since 1927, crafted by highly qualified specialists who also take ecological aspects into account. The portfolio includes furniture and upholstery for the areas of living, eating, sleeping, and working. Comprehensive, individual, and precisely customized furnishing solutions are the main strength of the brand. The products are developed in cooperation with external designers and architects and still feature the clear and timeless lines, which were typical of the historic Wiener Werkstätte.

In addition to its private living collection, the company also provides furniture, upholstery, windows, and doors for business and international projects: hotels, restaurants and public buildings such as Hotel Adlon, Berlin, the plenary hall in the German Reichstag building or the Hotel Dolder, Zurich. You can get an overview of the product portfolio of Neue Wiener Werkstätte at the new company location Wiener Schottenring. The flagship store offers product innovations and inspiration for comprehensive furnishing concepts for trade professionals and design enthusiasts. Annually the US company Pantone traditionally declares the Color of the Year. The color of 2015 is named “Marsala” and looks like the eponymous liquor, when seen against the light. Neue Wiener Werkstätte takes up this trend and presents selected high-class furniture items in the new color.
