Alpine charm on and under the table
Fine natural wood floors from mafi underline the modern alpine charm of Döllerer’s World of Pleasure in Golling.
Döllerer’s World of Pleasure in Golling near Salzburg is the epitome of the Alpine quality of life. Culinary treasures, a charming atmosphere, and a cordial staff provide guests with an all-round experience for the senses. Fine natural wood floors from the upper Austrian premium producer mafi underline the modern Alpine charm.
In the restaurant for connoisseurs, which has been awarded three toques and is the heart of Döllerer‘s World of Pleasure, chef Andreas Döllerer has created his own personal style. In the so-called “Cuisine Alpine,” he combines fine international products with high-quality specialties from the region, thus transforming regional dishes into modern classics. It is not without reason that the current Falstaff Restaurant Guide has given the restaurant a total of 99 out of a possible 100 points and chosen Döllerer’s World of Pleasure as the best restaurant in Austria. But tradition meets modernity not only in the kitchen, but also in the interior design.
With the selection of mafi’s “Oak Character” natural wood floor – brushed and grey oiled, the interior architect duo Johanna and Michael Atzenhofer (Architekt & Friends) have created a modern Alpine overall design. The robust oak planks radiate natural charm with their small knotholes and cracks. To make a smooth surface, the stress cracks and cracks from branches as well as small branch holes have been filled with a matching wood putty. The resulting putty areas with a diameter of up to 25 mm maintain the rustic natural look. In addition, the grey oiling provides a certain patina right from the very first second, which gives the floor a refined spatial character. Thanks to the tried and tested mafi three-layer construction with a small bevel on the long side, a ca. 4 mm top layer, and a stabilizing layer in the same thickness and wood type, an extremely durable floor has been created – ideal for the intensive wear in a restaurant. Together with the purist reduced furniture, pastel colors, and loving details, a light, friendly interior concept with Alpine chic has come into being. Photos: mafi
